The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age).
The importance of CPR/AED:
Are you prepared to respond to an emergency? Each year the US reports approximately 350,000 Cardiac Arrests occur outside of a hospital. While up to 70 percent of Americans either do not know how to administer CPR or their training has significantly lapsed. This problem could hit close to home, because home is exactly where the majority of these events occur. The American Red Cross recommends that everyone be within four minutes of an AED device and someone trained to use it. Survival rates for Sudden Cardiac Arrest are drastically improved when an AED Device is used. We've all seen them at work, while shopping, dining and many places where poeple routinely gather. With such great access to these devices, shouldn't we know how to use them? Prepare yourself and safeguard your family today!
First Aid is more than a bandage:
Did you know that First-Aid training increases our awareness of preventing injuries? This training reduces accidents and minimizes Emergency Room Visits when basic care is provided quickly and efficiently. Learn to recognize common risk factors and early symptoms of illness while becoming more confident and prepared to respond to emergencies such as hypothermia, choking, bleeding, respiratory distress, allergic reactions and stroke.
